The Final: Chelsea v. Manchester United

Wembley Stadium, London

Sunday 18th May 2025

Here we are then, ten rounds completed and one showpiece final eleventh match to finish.

A journey that started on 1st September 2024 at Foxcotte Park, Andover ends on a spring afternoon at Wembley Stadium.

The irresistible force of Manchester United meets the immovable object of Chelsea in a clash that will no doubt go down in history! (Thank you Mitchell & Webb).

As this is the denouement of the blog I will keep the words to a minimum and let the pictures tell the story of the day.

Teams Line Up

Foul by Bizet on Cuthbert for the penalty decision.

Sandy Baltimore scores from the spot (45+1).

Substitute Cat Macaroni heads the second goal (84m).

Baltimore after scoring her second (90+1m).

No doubt the penalty decision late in the first half turned a tight match. If United could have gone in level at half time then it's a different game and maybe Ella Toone could have made a difference when she came off the bench.

In the end the extra quality and depth of the Chelsea bench was the difference.

The pressure told in the closing minutes with an excellent header from substitute Cat Macario on 84 minutes following a free kick delivery from Sandy Baltimore.

Baltimore completed the scoring in added time to wrap up a fully deserved victory.

The Adobe Women's FA Cup 24/25 goes to Chelsea.
